On 9 October 2025, Hassan Conteh, a senior member of the Institute for Legal Research and Advocacy for Justice @ILRAJ2, secured a significant victory in a legal case at the Pademba Road Magistrate’s Court in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Representing the accused, Abu Bakarr Conteh, he successfully argued a “No Case to Answer” submission before Magistrate Adama Kandeh in Court No. 4.Abu Bakarr Conteh faced a single charge of shop breaking under Section 26(1) of the Larceny Act 1916. The prosecution alleged that on 5 August 2025, he broke into a shop on Regent Road, Lumley, Freetown, with the intent to commit a crime. After the prosecution presented its case, Hassan Conteh @Hassanconteh2880 submitted a detailed written argument, asserting that the evidence was insufficient to proceed. In her ruling, Magistrate Adama Kandeh agreed, stating that the prosecution failed to provide enough evidence to justify moving the case to the High Court. As a result, the magistrate dismissed the charge and ordered the immediate release of Abu Bakarr Conteh.
